We have become fed up with finding stuff on new customer's cars that has been missed / ignored countless times in the past, so here we will start to show the worst of the 'horrors' that we find most weeks:

Cabin filter taken from an 'R' reg Fiesta - how many people have 'serviced' this car, and not even bothered to check this? What else did they omit or miss?

Cambelt tensioner pulley from a Rover 420SD - and the car DROVE here! Lucky doesn't cover it!!

Changing an headlamp controller on a Nissan Murano - yes, you have to take the front bumper off !! And its a £270 part - they don't tell you that when you buy the car !!??

Changing the cabin filter on an MCC  Smart Pulse [ForTwo] - 1st, remove the WHOLE of the front clip ..........

"I'm not going to pay you to fit my rear silencer onto my car, I've got a mate that can weld" - no, seriously, DON'T let him near it if he's going to do this !!

Bring it to us & we will do it properly !

BMW 1 series E87 [3 series, 5 series?] fault code 5E20 or 5E24 ............

a common failure caused by failure of the MK60SI ESC control unit [ABS control, or HECU, beside master cylinder] - BMW now do a repair kit for the mechanical part - HCU-  part number 34516797896 - takes a couple of hours to fit, still a £400 job - better than when you could only buy the whole assembly at about £800!!

once fitted & bled, the fault code will erase finally, and the dash light warnings for ABS, TCS etc go out.

 here it is, in the car, nearly ready for removal & swap of HCU

VW EOS offside [driver's] door mirror glass, with special liquid filling to give auto dimming - 3C0857522N - £281.23.  Yes, you read that right!  No, the decimal is NOT in the wrong place!

you can use a normal glass 5M0857522H at £42.92, but you lose the auto dimming facility.......

If you are going to fit shortened roadsprings, PLEASE use shortened shock absorbers to suit, or use helper springs to take up the airgap .......
